Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and best friend, Deanna Jean Peck Jones, passed away on November 4, 2018, surrounded by loving family. Deanna was born to Solomon and Beatrice Peck on November 12, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. She is the oldest of four siblings and was preceded in death by her younger brother, Steve Peck, just a few days before her passing. Deanna had many wonderful memories of growing up with her parents and siblings in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area. Deanna married Gerald Yocom and had three sons, Jerry, Dick and Bert. They later divorced. She married Jerry Jones and had a daughter, Jamie. Deanna’s example of unconditional love and acceptance is a blessing. She was a giver and always wanted to help those around her. She loved her family and her friends very much. Her friends became her family. Deanna especially appreciated the love and help she received from her little sister, Sally, and her beloved sister-in-law, Hoa Ha Peck, Steve’s wife. Deanna was inquisitive, interested in politics, and loved to learn new things. She worked for many years in the electronics industry and still worked part time until her death and she enjoyed working with her sister Sally and her friends at work. Deanna is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Darrin) Dority; sons, Jerry (Pat) Yocom; Dick (Amy) Yocom; Bert (Shelly) Yocom; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Sally (Tony) Martin; brother, Jack (Sherry) Peck; sister-in-law, Hoa Ha Peck; close friend, Kim (Steve) Sterchi; as well as many nieces and nephews, members of Hoa’s family, and personal friends, who she cared about deeply. She will be missed by many! A small Celebration of Life and Remembrance dinner will be held for her close family and friends on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the American Heritage Retirement Community Clubhouse, 3040 South Homecrest Street, West Valley City, Utah, 84119. Family and friends who would like to write a favorite memory of Deanna, we would love for you to email them to her daughter, Jamie, at jdority@live.com, to be read at the remembrance gathering.
