Diane Marie Lowe

Diane Marie (Lilly) Lowe, age 66, passed away, surrounded by love, from cancer on May 21, 2020 in her eldest son’s home in Lehi, Utah. She was born December 1, 1953 in Pasadena, California to Damon and Dorcas Lilly, after her mother went Christmas shopping.

Diane had an older brother, David, and their family, the four D’s, would go camping and visit the beach often. She remembered hiking with her mom, drawing with her brother, but mostly, she was a daddy’s girl and spent most of her time as a child, by his side. She loved watching Dodgers games with him and combing his hair after work each day.

As a teen, she met and fell for her brother’s best friend, Daniel Eric Lowe (Danny).

They would ride motorcycles and work on cars together and she was a sight to see, covered in motor oil. She was 18 when they married on April 22, 1972 in Monrovia, California. They rode off to their honeymoon in Utah, on their motorcycles.

Danny joined the navy during the Vietnam war and served overseas while Diane waited for him at home. They then had three children. Raising them was her greatest purpose in life. She enjoyed sharing her love of camping with them, going on summer trips and family gatherings. The family lived in California for several years, then her in-laws moved her and two of her kids with them to Utah for a safer place to raise them.

She endured many trials including sicknesses, trauma, the loss of her beloved father as a young mother, and depression. Several times she received help from family in raising her children, as her struggles got too heavy to bear alone. She was so grateful to those who stepped in. Though she struggled, she loved her children more than anything and she was an excellent example of enduring to the end, putting her faith in Christ to lead her way.

Throughout her life, she explored many religions and through her religious journey remained one shining constant; her pure and deep love for her Savior, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. With the support and examples from her in-laws, she came to know which church was for her. She struggled with an addiction to smoking, but with the power of her Savior, He took it away so she could be baptised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on December 1, 2007. Not once more did she feel a desire for her addiction again and she was eternally grateful for that personal miracle in her life. This blessing helped her know the love and care of Heavenly Father.

Diane loved playing cards and games with family and friends. She loved puzzles and was passionate about art and coloring. She loved sweets, mexican food, and dill pickles. She treated everyone she met as if they were family and loved to talk and share stories.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. They called her Yaya and she enjoyed sharing jelly beans and sweets with them and spending quiet time with each of them, sharing her love of coloring. They were so dear to her and she gave them each a special nickname from her heart.

Survived by her three children; Aaron (Ruth) Lowe, Nicole (Eric) Allsup, Clifford (Hillary) Lowe. Eleven grandchildren; Evelyn (Precious), Kristianna (Bright Eyes), Lilly (Perfect Flower), Serenity (Sweet Pea), Bella (Beautiful), Tristan (Warrior), Adalind (Bunny), Collin (I Can Collin), Piper (Munchkin), Easton (Strong Boy), Willanora (Kitten). Three loving sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Danny, parents, brother, parents-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

A special thanks to Valeo Hospice, Jessica Padilla RN and Lisa CNA.
