Donald J Nelson

Donald J Nelson was born July 22, 1951, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. He passed away August 26, 2016, following a lingering illness, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He found great joy and peace in the gospel and loved to share his testimony. He served a mission in the England East Mission as a youth. He was a loyal and generous friend to many who will miss him. He loved being of service to others and would gladly help anyone in need. He enjoyed wood working, fixing things and playing games with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Horace Nelson, mother Naomi Ilene Meier, and sister Wanda Marie Nelson. He is survived by his sisters Katherine Ilene Nelson (William) Hawkins, Martha Ann Nelson (Denis) Andelin, his brother Kenneth Allen (Gayla) Nelson, daughters Heather Ann Nelson (Jason) Little, Amy Brooke Nelson (Joe) Schellenberg, and son Clint Don Nelson. Don is also survived by five beautiful grandchildren Paige Brooklynn, Everett Duncan, Sawyer Joseph Schellenberg and Alexis Olivia and Peyton Tessa Little.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1st at 4460 West Cortney Drive West Valley City, UT at 4PM (Turn on 3100 S then turn on 4355 W and head N). After which, He will be laid to rest with his parents in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Don's name to Primary Children's Transplant Services.
