Frank Edward Smith

Born April 4, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT to Gloria Bean and Edward Brackett. Later adopted by Dean Smith. Passed on October 22,2021.

Frank married the love of his life, Dora Jean Carlson on May 1, 1970. They shared love, laughter and music for 52 years. Music was one of Frank’s passions. He played in several bands over the span of 40 years, and was a talented steel guitar player and singer. Most of his weekend nights were spent entertaining the crowds at many different clubs across Salt Lake. The only thing he loved more than music was his family. Frank raised his two girls with love, kindness, and high expectations. He was an amazing father, and role model.  In his younger years, he loved hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandkids, playing games. Frank made his living as a heavy truck equipment mechanic with Rick Warner, H&K, and later AG Trucking. He passed on his skills to the younger mechanics before he stopped working.

He will be missed forever by his wife Dora, daughters Carolyn and Frankie, sons in law Gary and Dennis, grandchildren Levi (Anna), Rachyl (Regis), Dustin (Teresa), Shawnee (Ryan), Juliana and Skyler, his great grandchildren Aaron, Braelyn, Tylee, Riley, Kimber, Ricky, Layla, and Cooper, his brothers Eddie (Tonya), Bill, and Rob, Brother in law Allen (Eliane), Sisters in law Connie, Donna, Carol (Bill), Janet (Bill) and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was greeted in Heaven by his mom and dads, sisters Barbara and Vicki, Father and Mother in Law Leon and Dora, Brothers in law Lonnie, Bill, Dusty and John, and Sisters in law Sherrie and Liz, and great grand daughter Sophia.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Friday October 29th between 6 and 8 pm at Majestic Meadows Club House. 4580 S 1055 W.  Please park in designated parking spots (no on street parking).
