Gertrude Louise Soares

It is with great sadness Gertrude Louise Soares "Gert" 86 years old  passed away January 10, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.    She is preceded in death by her husband Norman Soares.  Mother Alvian Gauvin, father Everett Cathcart.  Gert is survived by her daughter Ginny Bradley Hambly, Son in law David Hambly and grandchildren Kevin and Kathy Hambly, sister Janet Rogers, Helen Ellis,Ruth Byerly, Evelyn Abbot and brother Carl Cathcart.   Gert spent most of her life in Matttapoisett Massachusetts.  She was a hair dresser, a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  She enjoyed cooking and sewing.  A memorial service will be held in Massachusetts in the Summer of 2020.  A special thanks to the Staff at Cascade @ Riverwalk and Summit Hospice for her care in the last days of her life.  Please make any donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
