Jimmy Gonzales

On June 18th, 2017 our beloved Jimmy returned home. He was born in Roy Utah, November 11th 1951 to Jose and Fidencia (Valdez) Gonzales. In his younger years, Jimmy achieved his Eagle Scout award and also earned his bachelor and master’s degrees. He was also commissioned in the Navy as a fireman during the Vietnam War. He used his leadership skills and those experiences in his decades-long career with the US Postal Service.

He was well known for his kind heart, witty jokes, and jovial spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends who affectionately called him Uncle Bean or Grandpa. Jimmy was always looking for ways to help a neighbor or fix anything, broken or not.

Jimmy’s love continues through his wife Pat, son Mario (Wife Stephanie Neville Gonzales), daughter Lupe, brother's Vince, Ben, Leonard and sister Josie Gardener. Preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister Pat.  Jimmy was extremely proud of his grandchildren Alex, Josh, Jason, Nick and Amaya and always brought a smile to many nieces and nephews who loved being around him. Each one brought smiles and laughter to him, and Jimmy returned his love without compare.

A service will be held Saturday, June 24th at 4pm at the Southside Church. Please bring your favorite Uncle Jim story to share as we all want to share in his memory.
