Karla, 78, passed away on November 17, 2022 while surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband David Clawson, her parents Bernard and Juanita Thomas, and her youngest Son Aaron Clawson. She is survived by her Sons, David Perry, Madison (Kristie), her Daughter Kelli, six Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren, her Brother Bruce (Diane) Thomas, and her Niece and Nephewsand their families.

Born to Bernard and Juanita Thomas, Karlagrew up in Farmington playing in the “Oakgrove” with the neighborhood children and her best Friend Buttons, her first dog. She attended Davis High school and loved to sing and performed in the school musicals, where met her future husband, David. After graduating in 1962, she spent a couple summers working and living down in Zion’s National Parkas a waitress and entertainer. Karla had a beautiful voice and was a very talented Vocalist. She then served and LDS mission in England. After returning home, Karla and David were married in 1966 and she attended Weber State and studied Commercial Art. They started their family with the birth of their son, David Perry, in 1968. With the addition of three more children, Madison Thomas, Kelli, and Aaron Wolferstan, they settled in Farmington to raise their family. She was great Mom who worked tirelessly to take care of and provide for her family. We never knew how poor we were, and we had wonderful childhoods. There was never a Christmas or Birthday that anyone was ever disappointed. Mom was incredible at stretching a dollar. She began her career as bus driver in 1980 and she loved her job. She drove special needs children and loved every one of her students, and they loved her. She was goofy and fun and her bus was filled with music and singing. Our home was no different and it was not uncommon to come home to the stereo turned up and Mom singing her heart out while doing housework. One of her passions was Genealogy, and she loved to learn about and add stories to the family history. She made our family tree come alive and become part of our family, rather than just names and dates with the names of strangers. She collected everything she could from family, historians, and her research. She put together a photo album that goes back five generations. Another love was for animals,it began with her first dog, Buttons. There were only short periods of time that there wasn’t a pet or two in the home. Karla had a big heart and was 100% a giver and cared for others more than herself. She was a selfless caregiver and cared for all her loved ones at the end of their lives, giving of herself for them. To know her was to love her. Her sense of humor and wit would draw people to her and she could make everyone smile and laugh. Even as Alzheimer's continued to take her further away from us, her humor came through and her caregivers loved caring for her because she made them laugh. She was so much more than a Mom and Grandma to her family, she was a friend. Always a phone call or a few minutes away when we needed her. She is so very loved and will be so very missed.
