January 23, 1986 Michael was born to Dean and Brenda (Duncan) Jones in Provo, UT. At the age of 3 he moved to his hometown of St. George, UT where he attended Elementary, Junior High, and High School, and played college football at Dixie State. Mike could be found hanging out with his best buds, playing football or teasing his four sisters. He served an LDS mission in Pittsburg, PA. On March 10, 2012 he married his soulmate and best friend Christy Scherbel Jones. Together they built a life of adventure and home full of love. They traveled together throughout the US (including Texas and any time they could find in Hawaii), Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Netherlands. He continued his higher education at Utah Valley University studying business while working alongside good friends managing the Big Boy Movers Utah office.
On January 16, 2019 Mike joined his twin sister Mal and is preparing for when he will be reunited with his beautiful wife Christy; his parents Dean and Brenda Jones; his sisters Monica, Makinzee, and Maddison; his best buddy and niece Evalyn; his nana Donna Duncan; and his Scherbel family: Paul A. and Geri Scherbel, Paul M. Scherbel, Shelly Wagstaff, Roland Scherbel, Michael Scherbel, Daniel Scherbel, Thomas Scherbel, Jonathan Scherbel, their spouses, and all 24 nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Kramer Family Funeral. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 5-7 p.m and Monday, January 21, 2019 from 9-9:45 a.m. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. These services will be held at 5058 Dock St. in South Jordan, UT 84009.
Burial services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Heber City Cemetery located on 700 N. 550 E. Heber City, UT 84032.
