Nathan D. Ridge passed away on September 19, 2022. Nathan was born in Salt Lake City to Robert and Frances Ridge on 09/20/1936. He was raised in Magna, Utah, and graduated Cyprus High School in 1954. Following graduation, he joined the army reserves. He went on to work at Kennecott Refinery and later became a deputy sheriff for Salt Lake County where he worked until he retired. During his time with the sheriff’s office, he rode in the motor squad and participated in many parades. His favorite assignment within the SLCSO was working canyon patrol.
He enjoyed leatherworking, playing softball, bowling, outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and going for drives in the canyons.
He married Glenna Hymas, they had 5 children. Nathan and Glenna later divorced. Years later he married Janice Breeze and they remained together until his death. During their time together they went on many adventures including traveling to Hawaii, and going on a Caribbean cruise. They went to St. George many years for Nathan to participate in the World Senior Games playing softball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard, step-daughter Danielle and great- granddaughter Indy Llew. He is survived by his wife Janice; his children and step-children, Dave (Mary), Susanne (Randy), Melinda (Stan), Kathy (Mike), Julie (Mark), Steve (Leslie), Mark (Amilly), and Kim (Josh); Nieces, Becky (Buck), Leslie (Max), and Michelle (Steve). 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and three on the way, and many other extended family member and friends.
There will be a graveside service to be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Camp Williams on Friday September 30, 2022 at 12:00pm.
