Roy Castelli, Sr., 68, passed away peacefully August 10, 2018, with his family by his side. Roy was born on February 3, 1950, in Ogden to Thelma Castelli.
He enlisted as a private in the U.S. Army in 1969 and was stationed in Ft. Lewis, WA. Soon after he was deployed to Korea, in 1975, he was honorably discharged.
Roy met the love of his life, Marsha in California, and was married June 30, 1973. They raised one son, Roy Castelli, Jr; and two step-kids, Danail and Rhichard Jacobson. They lived on California and Oregon and eventually settled in Ogden.
He had many different jobs but the one he was most proud of was working for the State Department in helping disabled veterans find jobs. He spent several hours volunteering with Nami, an organization that helps vets with disabilities.
Roy is survived by his wife, son, grandchildren, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mom, grandparents, a granddaughter, and other family members.
His memorial service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale, UT 84065.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 6 p.m. at the Rock Cliff 3rd Ward, 2nd St., and Porter Ave in Ogden.
